We love to camp on the Easter weekend. If you know us at all, it ALWAYS rains when we go camping and it normally ends up with us retreating to higher ground or drier accommodation. This time we were prepared for the rain and the challenges of camping along a river. We arrived at Ebb and Flow Wilderness National park, on Thursday late afternoon to the campsite full of families and bursting at the seams. Once we had set up on the banks of the Touw River, we lit a fire, and that was that for the weekend. Pure bliss. Even though the rain tested our mettle, we loved watching people and birds, rowing up and down the river, reading and adventuring around the area. Wilderness is my favourite little slice of heaven.
