Camping along the Breede River
“I reckon, if you live the kind of life where you get to spend the odd weekend living simply on the banks of a river, indulging in the uncomplicated pleasures of dive bombing from a rope swing, canoeing upstream, reading in a shady spot and drinking perfectly brewed coffee from enamel mugs, then you’re doing ok.” – Nadia Krige
I love how Nadia summed up our weekend away together. We spent the past weekend at a picturesque little spot called River Goose Campsite. This spot is on a farm on the banks of the Breede River, near Bonnievale. It is absolutely beautiful. The entire campsite has lovely thick grass so you are always comfy, and is surrounded by big trees. It is well maintained and has a magical feeling to it. Of course, an added bonus is the view of the river on one side and the farmlands on the other. It was very hot, so we welcomed the opportunity to cool off in the river, whilst Nadia and Guillaume decided to go for a paddle in the canoe. This little campsite has definitely reached our top 5 favourites, and was an amazing little ‘chill out’ from all the hard work of late.
lovely photos! this is still one of my favourite camping spots! (still very undiscovered)
Yes! We must all go back there together.
